Top 3 Email Marketing Mistakes
If you are looking to avoid the mistakes MOST marketers make when marketing through email, read this article.
Below is a list of 3 common mistakes made in email marketing in Houston, Texas. Are you making them?
- Creating Your Own Mailing Lists
- Interfering on others right to privacy by creating a mailing list without getting permission first.
- When you purchase or create a list of subscribers in the manner I have earlier stated, you assume that people want to hear from you but in fact they do not even wish a single word that you would utter.
- Email Marketing is a great way to grow your business by communicating with prospect and current customers, but violating their privacy can destroy your credibility.
- Avoid these mistakes and people who subscribe to you will return the appreciation by patronizing your product or service.
- Provide High Quality Content
- Contents must be directed well to significantly impact would-be customers through a positive outlook on things.
- Don’t use pushy sales copy, like “BUY NOW!!!!” or “LIMITED TIME OFFER!!!?” In an email, using ALL CAPS is the equivalent of screaming at the top of your lungs. It’s obnoxious. Spam filters will penalize you for screaming, using pushy sales copy, using bright red fonts, too many exclamation points, and other spam content.
- Instead persuade by providing quality information that offers a solution, saves them time, money and helps solve a problem or fill a need. Describe and inform readers about your product or service.
- Also avoid errors found in e-mails such as misspelled words, poor grammar, links that do not work, and so on. These mishaps are small signs of lack of professionalism, and must be avoided.
- Too many graphics, slow downloads, or graphics that overshadow your message, and attachments will turn off readers. Whatever you want readers to do, make it clear and simple.
- Campaigning Strategies Mistakes
- A good marketing strategy must be customer centered.
- Too many newsletters focus on generic material. Give people something they can use – for example, provide information that makes them want to do business with you. Readers want to know what’s in it for them.
- You need to provide them with something that they desire. Interesting and topical content, make it brief enough to hold their attention and long enough for you to get your benefit across.
